Whether you have a question about features, trials, pricing, need a demo, or anything else, our team is ready to answer all your questions.

Q

Where can I buy BCC products?

A

Authorised Distributors, Modern Trade, Selected D.I.Y Stores or contact sales department Tel. 02-254-4550-9

Q

What are cable sizes and number of cores?

A

Wire size = cross-sectional area of the conductor (unit: sq.mm), such as 2x4 sq.mm, meaning 2 axes. Each core has a cross-sectional area of 4 square meters.

Q

What are different features of copper and aluminum conductors?

A

Copper conductors have higher conductivity than aluminum (100% ACS) with higher melting point (1083°c) but is heavier than Aluminum (Density 8.89 g/cm³). Aluminum conductors have lower conductivity (61% ACS) with lower melting point (699°c) but is lighter than copper (Density 2.70 g/cm³).

Q

What is the difference between PVC and XLPE Insulation?

A

PVC insulation can withstand maximum continuous temperature of 70°c whereas XLPE insulation can withstand maximum continuous temperature of 90°c. Therefore cables with XLPE insulation can carry more current than PVC insulation at the same conductor size.

Q

What is the difference between cables with PVC Sheath and PE Sheath?

A

Cables with PVC sheaths will be softer, more flexible and have better chemical resistance. Cables with PE sheaths is harder, scratch resistant and have good moisture resistance.

Q

What are the types of cables that protect against animal bites?

A

Vermin Proof cables (VP) prevents against rodents and Anti Termite cables (AT) for termite protection.

Q

What are Fire Retardant Cables (FR) and what are its properties and uses?

A

FRC type cables limit the spreading of fire when burned, compared to general power cables. FRC can be used with general electrical systems or areas with a high risk of fire.

Q

What are Fire Resistant Cables (FRC) and what are its properties and uses?

A

Properties are generally similar to FR cables but can supply electricity for a period of time while being burned. FRC can be used with various life-saving systems such as emergency lighting systems, alarm systems and fire protection systems.

Q

Why buy BCC FRC Cables?

A

The cables are tested according to BS 6387 Cat A, B or C, W or Z standards and we have certificates from recognized international institutions for our Laboratory for Testing under Fire Conditions.

Q

How long can power cables be used before requiring replacement?

A

At least 20 years depending on 1. Installation 2. Correct Use 3. Voltage and Current Rating 4. Mechanical effects on wire such as shock, bending, twisting or vibration 5. Installation Environment.
